A goal and its pace

A goal tracks an amount you want to set aside, with or without a date. When a date makes the calculation possible, Halis shows a suggested pace without scheduling a payment.

A goal associates a project with a target amount and, optionally, a date. Its pot tracks the amount you allocate to it in Halis. This tracking relies on your entries rather than automatically checking your bank savings.

Prepare your project

Choose a recognisable name and an amount greater than zero. Preparing for a phone, a trip or another project starts with knowing the amount you want to build up; you can proceed without setting a date.

Creation depends on your current access. If adding opens the Premium offer, read the terms shown: this flow concerns access to an additional goal and does not mean the project name was entered incorrectly.

Set the goal

  1. Open the budget’s goal section, then Set a goal.
  2. Name the project and enter the target amount; check the displayed currency.
  3. Keep No date or choose the date by which you want to build up the amount.
  4. Review the information, then confirm with Set the goal.
  5. Open the goal to view its pot and progress.

An empty name or a non-positive amount prevents creation. Fill in both before confirming again; adding a date does not replace the target amount.

Add to the pot

From the goal detail, tap Move to open the form towards its pot. Choose the source account, check the amount, then confirm the move in Halis.

For example, a 100,000 FCFA goal with 25,000 FCFA allocated to its pot has 75,000 FCFA left to build up. This progress should match your actual arrangements: recording the move does not withdraw 25,000 FCFA from your bank.

A move to the pot also changes the source account’s record. Avoid entering an ordinary expense as well as the move: that would record two different transactions for a single allocation of money.

Read the pace and take money back

With a date, the monthly pace estimates what to set aside from the remaining amount and time available. It is not shown without a date, once the target has been reached or when the date is already past. This reference is not an automatic payment instruction.

To take back money tracked in the pot, tap Take back and read the stated effect. The flow then opens a move from the pot: check the destination account and amount before confirming. The amount tracked for the goal decreases accordingly.

Review the project and check the figures

A personal goal’s settings let you revisit its information. If the project changes, open its edit form rather than creating another goal for the same project. Management commands can depend on available access.

If progress looks unexpected, inspect the pot’s transactions and amounts. Also check any take-backs and adjustments. On several phones, wait for syncing before recording the same move a second time.
