Offline and what syncs
You can record transactions offline on a device already signed in to your account. Entries wait on that device and are sent when its connection and session allow it.
Your local journal lets you view data already present and record transactions without a connection. This does not mean the whole app works offline: account sign-in, invitations and a remote Halis AI answer require exchanges with the service.
Distinguish local and synced data
An entry saved offline initially stays on the phone where you made it. When the network and session allow exchanges, the app sends pending entries and receives data available to your account.
Another device then needs to receive what was sent before displaying it. Seeing a purchase on your first screen therefore does not yet prove it is present on your second phone.
Check this phone’s status
- From your profile, open Syncing.
- Check the pending-item count and the items shown when a queue is waiting to send.
- Read the last known sync.
- Check the device information to identify which phone this status describes.
No previous sync and an old sync are different situations. The displayed date describes this device’s known exchanges; it does not announce a guaranteed time for the next upload.
Understand pending items
A waiting queue means local entries still need processing. During sending, the count changes; when nothing remains to send, the screen says so. This counter is not your account’s total transaction count.
The sync screen provides information: it has no button to force an immediate sync. Sending resumes through the app’s normal operation when conditions allow it. Tapping an item repeatedly does not speed up sending.
If a transaction does not arrive elsewhere
First return to the phone where you created it. Restore its connection and keep Halis open while exchanges resume, then check status again. Next, check that the other phone uses the same account and can also receive updates.
Also compare the money account and period displayed. A purchase from last month can be synced without appearing in this month’s list. Avoid entering it again before checking.
Before erasing or changing devices
Preserve local data while entries are still pending. Uninstalling Halis or resetting the phone can remove your access to anything never sent; signing in elsewhere does not recreate those entries.
Do not confuse journal syncing with a waiting Halis AI question: for the latter, follow the resume action offered in the conversation. Do not assume a remote request is sent again automatically when the network returns.
If status does not change despite an available connection, note the message, pending-item count and devices involved when asking for help. Describe the facts without sharing sign-in or access codes.
