My PIN no longer works

Your app passcode protects Halis on this device, rather than signing you in to your account. Account recovery lets you confirm your identity again and choose a new passcode.

Your access code protects opening Halis on this device. It is six digits you choose, separate from the email code used to sign in and from your phone’s unlock code.

Understand local protection

The access code is optional during setup. If you skipped it, its absence when opening the app does not by itself indicate an account problem. Protection settings are available in your profile’s security settings.

If you enabled biometrics and your phone supports them, complete the requested verification. When a Halis code exists, you can switch to entering it using the option on the biometric screen.

If your code is refused

Check that you are entering the code chosen in Halis, rather than an email code or your phone’s code. The screen shows remaining attempts after a refusal: avoid guessing if you no longer remember your code.

Recovery requires you to prove account access again. Have a network connection ready and access to the sign-in method already linked to Halis, such as your mailbox or Google or Apple account.

Recover access

  1. Use the forgotten-code link below the keypad.
  2. Read the explanation, then follow the suggested sign-in method for the account already in use.
  3. Complete the verification requested by Google, Apple or email, depending on your sign-in method.
  4. Choose a new code when offered, then enter it a second time to confirm it.
  5. Finish the flow before returning to your journal.

Recovery must return to the same account. If the identity you prove belongs to another account, Halis refuses to replace the current space’s lock. Use the correct sign-in method rather than creating a new space to work around that message.

Choose and confirm six digits

Avoid six identical digits and continuous ascending or descending sequences: Halis refuses these easily guessed codes. Choose a personal code you can remember without sharing it with someone else.

Both entries must match. If they differ, the flow returns to choosing a code so you can start again; do not rely on a confirmation you are no longer sure about.

Go back or ask for help

If you remember your code before sign-in finishes, Back to my code returns you to the keypad. Going back and forth does not reset attempts you have already used.

Recovering the lock and syncing the journal are separate operations. Replacing the code does not delete data attached to the account, but it does not retrieve transactions another phone never sent. Avoid erasing local data to resolve a forgotten code.

If you are still stuck, describe the screen, message and sign-in method used. The team does not need your access code or the code received by email.
