Share my account with someone

You can give someone access to one specific account with rights you choose. Sharing does not reveal your other accounts and access can be removed.

Sharing gives someone access to a particular account’s journal, with a right chosen for that person. It can suit tracking shared cash, for example. It differs from a group, where expenses are split between people.

Check sharing conditions

Creating an invitation is reserved for the account owner, requires Premium and depends on sharing being enabled for your account. Open an account you own, its menu, then Share this account. If the offer appears, read the required access before proceeding.

Before creating the link, check the account name and information already in its journal. Sharing covers this account and its transactions, rather than only entries added after the invitation.

Choose a useful right

  • View gives access to the account balance and transactions without permitting entries.
  • Add also allows adding, correcting and deleting account transactions.
  • Manage adds actions including balance adjustments and management of existing access.

Choose according to what you expect the person to do. The first right is enough to view a record together without changing it. To record purchases together, the entry right also allows corrections: it is not restricted to adding new items.

Creating a new invitation remains reserved for the owner, even when someone has management rights. That right also does not let them close the shared account.

Send and accept the invitation

  1. Choose the right in the sharing sheet and create the invitation.
2. Send the offered link to the intended person using your phone’s sharing options.
  3. The person opens the invitation, checks the account presented and accepts sharing in Halis.
  4. Return to the account’s people list to check the granted access.

The link still needs to be accepted to become access. If the invitation can no longer be used, read the message shown; as the owner, you can repeat the flow to create a usable invitation. Do not assume an old link is valid without checking.

Change a right or remove access

From the account’s people list, open the relevant person and select the intended right. The change applies when you choose the right; there is no additional save button to wait for in this sheet.

To cut access, use Remove and confirm removal. Transactions already recorded do not disappear as a result. If you share several accounts with this person, review each access separately.

Understand the scope

Sharing does not automatically open your other accounts, envelopes or personal goals. However, details entered in the shared account’s journal are part of what authorised people can read: review them before saving.

You are sharing a record in Halis. You are not granting bank access or giving the person a way to make a bank transfer from Halis. If a command is missing or the account becomes read-only, check the rights and displayed access status rather than recreating the account.
